Cats and Forgiveness (August Meet-up Recap)
Our conversations during our free monthly meet-ups take us in a variety of directions, and in order to ensure we circle back for reference, we’re going to start posting these resource blogs the day following a meet-up. The intent is to provide a roundup of resources or references from the conversation the night before.
The Victor Walk is our annual awareness movement about childhood rape. We have held four Victor Walk movements since 2013, and this past July we went to Saskatchewan and hit five cities and towns while we were there. Learn more about the Victor Walk here, and see pictures from this year's journey here.
Hospice Calgary has a huge resource library for all things related to grief, several people cited them as being a great resource for this in Calgary.
This animated short video by Brene Brown, is an excellent depiction about blame.
'Conversations with a Rattlesnake' is the book that Kim Barthel and Theo Fleury wrote together on trauma, healing, neuroscience and so much more.
Sadness is important and suppressing sadness can actually change our DNA: another trauma gold nugget from Kim Barthel.
Our next meet-up date will be in September, to be announced soon, stay tuned!
