Bring us in for trauma-informed seminars
Our trauma-informed seminars are delivered by members of the Breaking Free Foundation, offering organizations practical, compassionate education on trauma and PTSD while directly supporting access to care.
Each seminar requires a minimum $750 donation, which funds one Trauma Therapy Grant for an Albertan who would otherwise be unable to access trauma-informed treatment.
These sessions are designed for workplaces, community groups, and professional organizations seeking to better understand trauma, respond safely to disclosures, and foster healthier, more supportive environments.
By booking a seminar, your organization is not only learning how to respond with empathy and confidence, but also helping someone take a critical step toward healing.
Available Topics:
Responding Safely When Someone Shares Trauma or Sexual Assault
Learn how to respond when a friend, coworker, or community member discloses sexual assault, suicidal ideation or other trauma. This seminar covers what to say, what not to say, how to avoid causing harm, and how to offer support without taking on the role of a therapist or investigator.
Moving Beyond Stereotypes and Misconceptions
PTSD does not always look like what we see in movies. This seminar explains common symptoms, invisible signs, and why trauma responses vary widely from person to person.
Small Changes That Make a Big Difference
Learn practical, realistic ways organizations can reduce harm and increase psychological safety through communication, policies, and culture without needing to become trauma experts.

Our team is comprised of trauma survivors, group facilitators and subject matter experts who speak from our 10+ years advocating for and supporting the trauma community, but we are not speaking from clinical expertise. While we work with hundreds of therapists in Alberta, these seminars are not delivered by therapists, but are intended to act as educational catalysts to support organizations.
