The Meeting I Encountered

This was written by a Meet-up participant after attending a meeting with our group. With gratitude and permission here are her words.

The Meeting I Encountered

The group setting was perfect, some had shed their pain
A safe place for sharing, noting, “We All” are not to blame!
Looking in the mirror, analyzing frame by frame
Trauma has consumed us, defining our hurt and shame!

The healing journey commencing, one story after another
encouraging feed back from the group, to our sisters and our brothers.
No matter how you see the rock, has it dragged you to the gutters?
That spark, that hope, that thread to grab, no thing as you “just can’t cutter”

Qigong, yoga, singing bowls, rejuvenate when your blue
Start your day in pease, and practise loving you
Meditate in silence, ignore the egos crew
Zap the evil memories and the conclusions that you drew!

Recovery is a process, what ever your addiction may be
find yourself a Higher Power, when you fall down to your knees!
Surrendering and forgiveness are two important keys!
Visualize your strengths! They say good things come in threes!

The meeting I encountered left an impact on my soul
Thinking about the moment NOW, and positioning healthy goals
The members leading in group, portraying love and spiritual roles
Reaching out, one at a time, calming all lives wounded blows!

Eagle feather release the pain! Extinguish the mental woes!
The meeting I encountered, will keep me grounded and on my toes!
Rewire the emotional clutter, and forget the “bad” I chose
For today is on the horizon, and the healing water flows!
